[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]
Over the summer, a friend who works for Dovecote Records in New York sent me an LP called Defaults by Noah Smith, who operates under the stage name Hard Mix. I spent a lot of time with that record and enjoyed how palatable it was. It’s a sound you can access at a dance party, or while simply collecting the mail.
As an example of that elasticity, the song I’m sharing today was produced by Hard Mix to accomodate a theatre show. It’s based upon the human emotion through the context of science, which you can read a little more about here. The track is called The Well Chant; and much like the characteristics of an emotion, it’s transitive, cyclical, and leaves an impression beyond the time of its very own existence.
